SPARKLIS: a SPARQL Endpoint Explorer for Expressive Question Answering
نویسنده
چکیده
Sparklis is a Semantic Web tool that helps users explore SPARQL endpoints by guiding them in the interactive building of questions and answers, from simple ones to complex ones. It combines the fine-grained guidance of faceted search, most of the expressivity of SPARQL, and the readability of (controlled) natural languages. No endpoint-specific configuration is necessary, and no knowledge of SPARQL and the data schema is required from users. This demonstration paper is a companion to the research paper [2].

Sparklis: An expressive query builder for SPARQL endpoints with guidance in natural language
SPARKLIS is a Semantic Web tool that helps users explore and query SPARQL endpoints by guiding them in the interactive building of questions and answers, from simple ones to complex ones. It combines the fine-grained guidance of faceted search, most of the expressivity of SPARQL, and the readability of (controlled) natural languages. No knowledge of the vocabulary and schema are required for us...
متن کاملExpressive and Scalable Query-Based Faceted Search over SPARQL Endpoints
Linked data is increasingly available through SPARQL endpoints, but exploration and question answering by regular Web users largely remain an open challenge. Users have to choose between the expressivity of formal languages such as SPARQL, and the usability of tools based on navigation and visualization. In a previous work, we have proposed Query-based Faceted Search (QFS) as a way to reconcile...
متن کاملsquall2sparql: a Translator from Controlled English to Full SPARQL 1.1
This paper reports on the participation of the system squall2sparql in the QALD-3 question answering challenge for DBpedia. squall2sparql is a translator from SQUALL, a controlled natural language for English, to SPARQL 1.1, a standard expressive query and update language for linked open data. It covers nearly all features of SPARQL 1.1, and is directly applicable to any SPARQL endpoint.
متن کاملExploratory querying of SPARQL endpoints in space and time
The linked data Web provides a simple and flexible way of accessing information resources in a self-descriptive format. This offers a realistic chance of perforating existing data silos. However, in order to do so, space, time and other semantic concepts need to function as dimensions for effectively exploring, querying and filtering contents. While triple stores, SPARQL endpoints, and RDF were...
متن کاملA SPARQL Endpoint Profiler for an Efficient Question Answering System
A question answering (QA) system querying SPARQL endpoints must know which endpoints have data to match a triple pattern of a given question. To develop a system that locates endpoints more efficiently, we propose a tool to collect several metadata of a SPARQL endpoint using SPARQL queries only. The metadata include IRIs of explicitly declared classes (i.e., objects of the rdf:type predicate) a...
